"MANIFESTING SKETCH JOURNALING" IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLASSES TO TEACH!
I'VE BEEN CREATING COLORING BOOKS for decades, BEFORE IT WAS COOL."
GRAB A PEN AND A BOOK. Give yourself time to unplug. BE IN THE MOMENT.
It will bring such joy when you reflect on it a month, a year or two from now, a decade from now... Let it out! Get it on the page!
I enjoy going back a year later and coloring in the pages I drew.
Before you know it, one page will become many! Chapters will unfold. Then you will be starting another book...
YOU WILL CATCH YOURSELF SAYING, "I NEED TO PUT THAT IN THE BOOK!."
HOW TO GET STARTED:
1. Find a small book of quality and carry it with you everywhere! I carry a 4x6 inch hardcover book with white, unlined pages, nothing with lightweight paper. I bought it at an art supply store for about $6. Make sure it's a HARDBACK and use ARCHIVAL INK. MICRON PENS ARE MY FAVORITES. Trust me, a hot cup of tea can destroy hours of work in no time! Don't use spiral notebooks because they're crap!! Spirals have one benefit, you can lay the pages flat but that isn't enough to convince me to use them.
YOUR STORY IS WORTHY OF GREAT MATERIALS!
You are creating volumes, one page at a time!
2. Put your name, email and phone number on the inside cover. Just in case you misplace it, it will return. Do it now!
3. Date every page! You'll be happy you did. Find clever ways to hide the dates somewhere.
4. Create this wonderful habit by beginning with doing something once a week. Include quotes, doodles, ideas, draw what is in front of you, anything will do. You don't need to create every day. No pressure, no worries.
5. Don't be concerned about the quality! Just do it!! I have some truly hideous drawings, but the feeling is conveyed. The moment and idea was not lost because I overthought it.
6. If you put down family stories, you won't regret it. They will love you for asking. For example, record how people meet, their favorite funny story they love to repeat. Illustrate Grandma's cookie recipe. Illustrate a family recipe that everyone loves. Draw a family tree!
One of my favorite stories, "The Day Gram Said The F Word."
7. Share your book with others. Let them into your world, one page at a time. Draw a page together!
"I will gladly teach this class to any age group, just ask. Sketch Journaling should be shared!" ~Wendy
